A peaceful vigil to protest the Trump Administration's plans for using Fort Sill as a mass detention center for asylum-seeking immigrant children in July. Fort Sill has a dark history. 700 people of Japanese ancestry were interned at Fort Sill during WWII. It's where Apache people were forcibly relocated and imprisoned. Indigenous children were taken from their families and brought to Fort Sill for boarding school, attempting to erase their culture, language, and identity.
